ABOUT OUR EVENT

SERVING NONPROFITS FOR 75 YEARS

For over seven decades, LGT has proudly supported the DFW nonprofit community, and one of our favorite ways to give back is through free, high-impact education designed specifically for nonprofit leaders. Our Spring Into Action event offers 3 free CPE hours and the chance to connect with 60 DFW nonprofit leaders over breakfast.

Working with nonprofit organizations is a cornerstone of our business, and we are actively involved in the community. We partner with nearly 200 nonprofit organizations through our internal group that specializes in the unique needs of this sector.

Nonprofits, from small start-ups to well-established organizations, face challenges on many fronts, from navigating regulatory changes to balancing limited resources while pursuing their mission.

At Spring Into Action 2026, you’ll gain practical knowledge, connect with peers who understand the day-to-day realities of nonprofit work, and leave equipped with new strategies and inspiration to advance your mission.

Doing More With Less: Internal Controls, Duties, and Fraud Safeguards for Nonprofits

Presented by Babita Sherchan & Chadd Dearen, Lane Gorman Trubitt

Nonprofit teams often juggle big responsibilities with limited staff, which can make them more vulnerable to fraud. This session focuses on practical ways to protect your organization while keeping operations manageable. You’ll learn how to implement segregation of duties on a small team, spot and reduce fraud risks unique to nonprofits, and put internal controls in place that actually work without overwhelming your staff.
