ABOUT THE JOB

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reconcile accounts to control accounts during audit.
- Prepare and compute schedules, including but not limited to, property and equipment and related depreciation expense, receivables, payable, accruals, and other accounts.
- Perform audit or review procedures as assigned by supervisors.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and other documents.
- Perform other accounting, auditing, and tax duties as needed on engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel.
- Draft representation letters, engagement letters and management letters.
- Complete disclosure and audit report checklists.
- Suggest comments for management letters found through audit or review procedures.
- Assist with and/or plan audit engagements, under supervision of In-charge (i.e. confirmation selection, budgets, planning memorandums, risk assessment, and engagement/client evaluations).
- Analyze account balances and fluctuations and form expectations. Investigate unusual and significant variations.
- Set-up audit binders and prepare electronic trial balances for use in the engagement.
- Plan, prepare, and complete small audits (e.g. employee profit sharing plans, and small businesses).
- Apprise in-charge of progress and outstanding issues in order to give the best service possible to the client while remaining within established deadlines and budget.
- Keep supervisor apprised of progress and problems in order to meet established deadlines.
- Perform site inventory observations.
- Maintain relationships and communicate directly with client personnel.



REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting required.
- Acquired or currently pursuing 150 hours of college credit/qualifications in Accounting in order to set for the Uniform CPA Examination.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, audit software a plus (CCH Engagement etc).
- Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles.
- Ability to communicate clear and concise English both in writing and verbally; superior interpersonal skills applicable to client environment.

- Ability to keep supervisors apprised of progress and problems and review timely to meet established deadlines.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks on time and within budget.
- Ability to recognize accounting and/or auditing issues while working on assigned areas and bring them to the attention of the in-charge on the engagement.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Local travel to client sites using personal vehicle/transportation required (same-day, with mileage reimbursement).
- Minimal overnight travel;
- Overtime required during busy seasons (typically January–April).
