LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR CONTROLLERS' ROUNDTABLE (CRT).

LGT is heavily involved in dealership-related businesses. Through this involvement we keep up-to-date on recent industry issues so we can keep your dealership on the cutting edge. This is why our team hosts the Controllers' Roundtable (CRT).

Roundtables are attended by dealership controllers, CFOs, and office managers and include a variety of topics presented by external speakers alongside our LGT team to enhance participants' understanding of the latest issues affecting dealerships. Our roundtables are worth 12 hours of CPE. Historically, each event hosts about 50-60 attendees.

We host two roundtables each year. Our June Roundtable is hosted in Dallas, and our October Roundtable is hosted in San Antonio. Our conference is your gateway to networking with like-minded professionals while learning practical solutions to implement at your dealership.

Our commitment to supporting owners and controllers of dealerships reaches far beyond the DFW region. The passion in our Dealer Services Group to serve entrepreneurs and small business owners in the automotive industry led the team to begin hosting seminars and conferences, like CRT, to share important information with leaders of dealerships to help them meet their business goals and connect with needed resources. Our CRT speakers have national experience to share with attendees that pour in from all corners of the southwest.

We've gathered thought leaders and industry speakers who understand the intricate challenges faced by dealership controllers, CFOs, and office managers like you to enhance attendees' understanding of the latest issues affecting dealerships. Additionally, our roundtable discussions are designed to offer actionable insights, innovative strategies, and networking opportunities that you can use to your advantage when you return to your dealership.

You'll be able to exchange ideas and solutions with 50-60 other attendees from various dealerships across the state through our interactive roundtable sessions over the course of two days.

Our current speakers and topics are listed below. More speakers/topics will be updated here as they are added.

  • Mercedes Hendricks, CPA, Senior VP, Consulting Services with Kerrigan Advisors, will be presenting "Lessons from the Most Active Buy/Sell Market in Auto Retail History."
  • Darren Schlosser, Sergeant, Auto Theft Division with the Houston Police Department will be presenting "How to Steal a Car with Just a Pen."
 
A few topics at previous Roundtables have included topics on FTC compliance, employment law best practices, secession planning, tax law changes, image compliance trends, artificial intelligence.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

WHEN SHOULD I PLAN TO LEAVE AND ARRIVE? We will begin the event at 8 am on Thursday, June 13th. You are welcome to arrive on Wednesday, June 12th to explore uptown Dallas with us. Our Roundtable will end at 12 pm on Friday, June 14th.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN NO LONGER ATTEND CRT? We know that life happens. Contact our events coordinator at askus@lgt-cpa.com to cancel/refund your order. We also have the option to defer your ticket to our next CRT event.
HOW DO I GAIN CPE CREDIT? You'll receive a link to participate in the course evaluation from "LGT Events Team" two business days after the event. Our CPE coordinator will then provide your CPE certificate to you after completion of the survey. If you have any questions about your CPE, contact us at askus@lgt-cpa.com. You will receive 12 CPE hours for attending our event.
WILL THERE BE AFTER-HOURS EVENTS? We will be hosting a happy hour within walking distance from the hotel immediately following our last presentation on Thursday, June 13th.

"Prior to working at LGT, I was the controller at a Toyota dealership for 26 years.  I started attending CRT in 1997 after starting that job and realizing I knew almost nothing about the auto industry.  I had previously worked for an engineering and construction company and a real estate developer, so a lot of the transactions and language were new to me.  The auto manufacturers do a great job at educating the sales, finance, service and parts staff but training for office staff is virtually nonexistent.  From the spring of 1997 through June of 2022, I attended over 60 CRTs.  Throughout the years, in addition to earning continuing education hours for my CPA license, I have gained insight into the industry, built relationships with other controllers and office managers, learned about regulations and compliance requirements and learned about tools to help manage them, and have been given a great resource of LGT staff and partners."
